Questions

The things people ask first

Short answers, including where the answer is "not yet". If something you need to know is missing, ask us and we will add it here.

The basics

What is Kalathi?

Software that gives your shop its own online shop, connected to the till you already work with. It is not a shared marketplace of many shops and it does not place you next to your competitors.

Do I have to change my till system?

No. The online shop connects to the till you already have. We do not change how you work inside the shop.

Does it work with any till system?

Not automatically. Installations differ, and the web service that makes a connection possible is a separately licensed module. That is why the first step is always a compatibility check on your own installation.

Is my shop listed alongside other shops?

No. Your customers reach your own shop, in your own name. If a shared directory is ever added it will be optional, and taking part will be your decision.

Money and control

Who takes the money?

You do. The sale is made by your shop, into your own account. We never hold customer money and take no percentage of your sales.

Who owns the customers?

Your shop. Customer details belong to your business, not to us, and are not shared with any other shop on the platform.

What does it cost?

We have not published prices, because the true cost of connecting a shop is established by the first real integration rather than guessed beforehand. You will get a written proposal before you commit to anything.

Who decides prices and what goes online?

You do, in every case. Prices, offers, which products appear, opening hours, delivery areas and minimum orders are all your decisions.

Practical

How long does it take?

It depends how ready your own till is. We check it first and only then give you a timescale. We do not quote a deadline we cannot be sure of keeping.

Do you do the deliveries?

No. Delivery and collection are run by your shop, the way they are today. We are not a courier network.

Do my staff need training?

The order screen is built to be used on a phone in the aisle without training first. That is the standard we hold it to, and it is one of the things the pilot is meant to test honestly.

How many shops use it today?

None yet. A first pilot shop is under discussion. We would rather say so than invent a number.

Next step

Did not find your answer?

Write to us with your own question about your shop. A real answer is more useful than a longer page.

  1. You write to us Which system you run and what you want to solve.
  2. We check compatibility On your own installation, at no cost.
  3. A proposal, in writing Before you decide or pay anything.
